I am no longer a slacker!!

I finally have pictures posted....
Kjirsten: Birth and Baptism

Summer/Fall 2009

So, what have I been doing the past few months???

Birth story: I ended up being induced. I wasn't really happy about that since I have relatives and friends who had terrible induction stories. I went in to my last OB appointment on the 9th and my Bishop's score was 13, also known as "how-are-you-not-possibly-in-labor-yet?" The next morning, they had barely started the drip when I started having regular contractions. Short, not painful, but regular. Shortly after that, my OB came in and broke my water, and almost immediately labor was full-blown. Kjirsten was born less than an hour later (it seriously felt like about 30 minutes or less) after just a few good hard pushes. She had low blood glucose at first, not uncommon for big babies, but those eventually stabilized. We brought her home in a snowstorm - not what we expected, since Natali had worn t-shirts on our walks shortly after her birth.

Other than that, it's been a busy mess of non-news. Natali is counting, recognizes all of her letters, and is basically doing much more than she should be at age 2. She's a good, mostly helpful big sister who is working on getting potty trained. Kjirsten is smiling and laughing at us now, which brings us a lot of joy.

My contract started the year at full-time this year, and they're talking about having me do an overload or another teacher's classes during her maternity leave. The extra money is nice, especially now that I've finally found a good rotation of German-speaking sitters that will ensure I have time to keep up with it all while still having the at-home experience with my girls.

That's it in a nutshell!
